Dr Paula Retroz is a gynecologist and obstetrician with a long career dedicated to women’s health. Since 2021, she has been part of the Ferticentro team, working in the field of reproductive medicine, supporting couples and patients undergoing fertility treatments, providing careful and personalized guidance at every stage of the treatment process.
She graduated in Medicine in 1991 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Coimbra and completed her specialization in Gynecology and Obstetrics at Maternidade Bissaya Barreto, becoming a specialist in 2002. In 2015, she achieved the rank of Consultant.
Throughout her career, Dr Retroz has gained extensive experience in leading hospitals, including seventeen and a half years at Centro Hospitalar Oeste in Caldas da Rainha, one year at Centro Hospitalar da Cova da Beira, and five months at Hospital de Viseu – São Teotónio. In addition, she also practices at Hospital CUF Coimbra (since 2019), at Policlínica Central da Benedita, and at Clínica Espaço Energia in Óbidos, where she manages patients in general gynecology, obstetrics, and advanced clinical procedures.
The best moment is when patients are able to become pregnant. It is especially challenging in difficult cases, but seeing the smiles on women’s faces when they hold a healthy baby in their arms is indescribable. These are patients who have gone through years of unsuccessful attempts, and achieving this outcome represents a victory after a long journey of hardship.
