Dr. Giselda Carvalho is a gynecologist and obstetrician with extensive clinical experience, dedicating a large part of her practice to reproductive medicine at Ferticentro, where she has been part of the team since 2012. She supports patients and couples undergoing fertility treatments, ensuring a careful, empathetic, and individualized approach.
In parallel, she serves as a Gynecologist/Obstetrician at Hospital da Luz, where she coordinated the Gynecology department for five years, strengthening her clinical perspective and leadership skills. Over the course of her career, she worked as a Gynecologist at the Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra (CHUC) for 24 years, consolidating her expertise in hospital practice.
She graduated in Medicine from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Coimbra, in 1996 and completed her Complementary Internship in Gynecology-Obstetrics at the Serviço de Ginecologia e Maternidade Daniel de Matos, Centro Hospitalar e Universitário de Coimbra, from 1999 to 2005. She served as a Hospital Assistant in Gynecology-Obstetrics at the same institution from 2005 to 2015 and was promoted to Senior Assistant in 2015.
Her particular interests include general gynecology and benign gynecological conditions – especially fertility, endometriosis, fibroids, and surgery – with urogynecology being her area of specialization.
The most rewarding part is helping couples who face difficulties achieve their dream and build their life project. Sharing this journey and supporting them until the moment they finally hold their baby in their arms is an unforgettable experience.
